Nestled in the Florentine hills, within a former 15th-century monastery, Villa San Michele stands as a testament to Renaissance artistry and a haven of cultural inspiration. Beautifully renovated in 2025, its architecture pays homage to its rich heritage. From its façade attributed to the School of Michelangelo, to the woodlands where Leonardo da Vinci first attempted to fly, this 15th-century monastery intrigues with its layers of rich history.

Thirty-nine reimagined rooms and suites are arrayed across the monastery building and gardens. Most sumptuous of all are its signature suites, including the Limonaia Suite with private plunge pool set in the former 17th-century orangery, Botanica Suite and Grand Tour Suite.

The immaculate gardens burst with local botanicals, jasmine, lemon trees and fragrant roses. The heated pool, immersed in nature, offers unparalleled views of Florence. The new Villa San Michele Spa by Guerlain invites guests into a sanctuary of calm and refinement.

The restaurants take centre stage. In the romantic loggia, creative fine dining is on the menu while vistas embrace the silhouetted domes and turrets of the Florentine skyline. Nearby Bar San Michele is a venue for botanical cocktails, enhanced by views of the stars through the glass roof. Ristorante San Michele champions authentic Italian cuisine, while beside the pool San Michele Grill serves up enticing wood-fired pizza. 

A complimentary shuttle runs regularly throughout the day, to be in the heart of Florence in just 20 minutes.
